What is Neurovision?

There is a non-invasive neurovision treatment for vision enhancement, which is based on visual stimulation and acceleration of neural connections for vision. This technology has been clinically proven in the treatment of adult amblyopia, which was previously considered incurable.

Whether a patient is suitable for neurovision is determined after a detailed examination. Patients aged between 10 and 55 years, with a visual acuity between 15 and 20 per cent and a shift level of less than 8 prisms, and without any other pathology that would prevent vision in the eye, are considered suitable for treatment. In general, if there is no problem in the patient after the examination, the treatment is performed as required.

How is neurovision treatment applied?

After the patient is diagnosed as suitable, the first neurovision session is performed by the physician in the hospital. The treatment consists of approximately 40 sessions, each session lasting approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

After the first session initiated by the ophthalmologist in the hospital environment, the patient can apply the rest of the treatment at home or in a suitable work environment through the computer programme offered to the patient. After 1-2 sessions after the neurovision treatment application is started, the patient’s vision level is determined by the programme and this data is recorded on the computer and a special work plan is created for the patient after each session. The person starts to apply these plans.

In monthly controls, the visual acuity and contrast sensitivity information entered into the system by the doctor enables the progress of the personalised treatment process to be monitored.

How is the Neurovision Treatment Process?

For the success of neurovision treatment , sessions should be applied regularly for 40 minutes, 3 days a week with one day intervals.

In order to evaluate the patient’s treatment progress, a medical check-up is required after the 5th, 10th, 20th and 40th sessions. Regular sessions and physician controls can ensure that results can be obtained from the treatment, usually results are seen within 3 – 4 months.

Neurovision is a non-surgical and drug-free treatment method. It does not have any side effects for the patient and does not involve any risk. It is a treatment method approved by the American FDA and most of the application can be performed at home.

Computerised Vision Therapy at Home

Computerised vision therapy at home is also known as AmbP iNet. It is used in children between the ages of four and nine to complement the individualised treatment of lazy eye.

Recent research supported by the National Institute of Health/National Eye Institute of the United States of America reaffirms that the correct method of treatment may be the use of occlusion and/or drops. These new studies recommend occlusion during visual activities.

This encourages hand and eye coordination in children with amblyopia and improves visual acuity. Computerised vision therapy at home is designed to help force the amblyopic eye to see well and for improved hand and eye coordination. It has a variety of different activities to stimulate interest and further strengthen the improvement in vision.

The programme starts at the level determined by the ophthalmologist and the reactions are automatically evaluated by the vision improvement programme. As the vision improves, the programme automatically progresses to more challenging levels.
